Aesthetics of Venezuela’s Nature combined in Painting, Installation and Music

Aquiles Hadjis was Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela 1981 he lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. He moved to Japan to study painting at the Tokyo University of the Arts and holds MFA in painting and Ph.D degree of fine arts at the same university. His works showed many of exhibition and art fairs both as a solo artist and group collections in Tokyo, Taipei, Hamburg and any others all over the countries. His unique style of his work reflect based on Greek and Venezuela’s nature and he is combining Japanese substances on his own words.


She first became interested in Asia through Kendo ( modern Japanese martial art) and the teachings of Zen master Dogen. He moved to Japan in 2009 to become a researcher at Tokyo University of the Arts’ graduate department, where he stayed for 8 years, completing an MFA and a PhD.

Mr. Hadjis awarded many of scholarships such as Japan’s MEXT Scholarship, Ueno Yugei Prize (Master’s), 2013 Yoneyama Memorial Scholarships in Japan and also 2012 Red Bull Canvas Cooler Student Competition. He has been doing also many of commercial arts works as a graphic designer in Japan.
