I’m not really interested in fashion
There is a woman who make clothes lead the way to paradiso. She builds clothes only for people who love her. Choose the best materials on the earth, and make the most perfect design for human body. She ‘s not interested in fashion. She seeks only ideal beauty. After all, her works lead her lovers to the way to paradiso. Adeline André who is the pride of French fashion, Haute Couture’s one of the top 10 designers.
There was a unique and rare show at the French residence of the Consule générale de France in New York September 27th 2017. It was the fashion show named ‘Top of Wear’ was showed by about 10 fashion models and public figures such as Megan Le Crone (New York City Ballet), actress Laure-Lucile Simon at the salon and Thomas Brukener, American baritone vocalist sang a song to celebrate the show.
At the beginning point of the show, one model appeared at the stage and then dropped some folded white papers written and hidden something on the floor. All of works were mono color having wide space and natural line to the body. She had mentioned about her works based on the body, movement and life by herself. As her mention, the movement and expression seemed never artificial and seemed lively.
Salvador Dali’s Spirit, Adeline André

It was my, first experience of her fashion works. Her show was a ballet performance, an opera. It was like the Greek Goddess which Isadora Duncan imitated, and the one looked like a hanbok made of Korean natural dye. What is their commonality. It is not such a beautiful thing, that it transcends reality. The beautiful ideal that implies the soul of Salvador Dali took place in an elegant and compact French salon in New York.
Adeline André is a French fashion designer and the head of one of the ten haute couture design houses in Paris. She was born in Bangui, French Equatorial Africa in 1949 and studied at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. After her graduation in 1970 she entered the House of Christian Dior as an assistant for Haute Couture collections, working next Marc Bohan.
Christian Dior’s Haute Couture Studio
Adeline Andre was a Marc Bohan’s personal assistant in Haute Couture Studio, Marc Bohan was the Couturier after Christian Dior died. Her work was made with accessories, designs, fabrics, buttons, details, accessories , also designed models, jewelry, accessories, but there was any photos, nobody was allowed to do photos 1970’s.
Top of Wear
Ms. Andre’s works pretty often named as ‘Top of Wear’ which is invented name in 1980’s. It started near 1984-5 at the parties for private customers for both male and female in Paris. In 1981 she formed her own designer House Adeline André. That same year she also registered her most famous fashion innovation, the “three sleeve holes” at the French National Industrial Property Institute and 1982 at the World Intellectual Property Organization. Examples of this three sleeve holes garment are in the collections of French Fashion Museum, Palais Galliera in Paris, the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and the Fashion and Design Museum in Lisbon.
In May 1997, Adeline André became an ‘invited member‘ of the Syndicate Chamber of Parisian Haute Couture and a ‘permanent member‘ since January 2005. She is currently the head designer at the fashion house that bears her name. Adeline André also teaches color at her alma mater, participates in gallery and museum exhibitions, and designs costumes for ballet, opera and theater. Her dream is to travel to Asia, Japan and Corea, for work Projet.
