This rare concert presents Korean sanjo (instrumental solo) and pansori (epic vocal drama) featuring some of the most celebrated masters and artists from South Korea, including Lee Tae-Baek (Ajaeng), Yun Jin-Chul (Pansori/Voice), Yi Ji-Young (Gayageum), You Kyung-Hwa (Janngu/Cheolhyeongeum), Kwak Soo-Eun (25-String Gayageum) and Lee Young-Sub (Daegeum). This event highlights the contemporary developments of these two significant genres showing the beauty and aesthetic of Korean antiquity linked with modern sensibilities. Sue-Yeon Park, Korean dance master and a 2008 National Heritage Fellow, joins in performing the utmost spiritual shaman ritual music, Sinawi.
